The initial download consisted of 81,081 linear measurements of 4035 brachiopod species belonging to 785 genera extant during the Permian period. The Paleobiology Database is relatively new, but it is proving to be indispensable as a go-to site for everything fossil. It is an international database and far more useful than MINDAT.
